The MSHA degree is awarded upon successful completion of 9 courses comprising 36 credits. Students take one course during each seven week term, enabling most students to finish their degrees in less than two years. The curriculum will challenge students to identify and overcome obstacles to strategic thinking, develop a framework for creating strategic solutions, and acquire the leadership skills that contribute to managing change and uncertainty in healthcare organizations and their environments.
The program follows of the following structure:
- Core Courses provide essential knowledge and pave the way for more complex learning.
- Concentration Courses provide the opportunity to delve further into students' specific area of interest, allowing them to expand their scope of learning.
- Capstone Project — enables students to use the skills learned within the program in a practical problem-solving situation.
Excel in a Truly Demanding Field
The New England College MSHA program offers in-depth analysis of the various components that make up healthcare organizations. Students acquire knowledge and skills in leadership and managerial approaches to marketing, economics, project management, and finance, in order to foster an effective and successful healthcare organization. In addition to exploring the business aspects of healthcare administration, strategies for taking account of human aspects such as ethics, cultural diversity, negotiation and conflict resolution, and leadership styles are also examined. It is our goal at NEC to provide the healthcare industry with graduates who understand the "big picture" in this growing sector.
Study Online, but Never Alone The online delivery of the New England College MSHA program may be new and different to some learners. NEC therefore uses a team of professionals who support each student's progress throughout this rigorous program. Each student will have direct access to Faculty and will also be assisted by a Student Services Manager, Admissions Advisor, and Technical Support Team throughout the online process from admission to graduation. Each student will progress through the program with a cohort of approximately 13 to 15 students who learn together and provide peer support and a sense of community in the virtual environment. 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help students resolve any technical difficulties.
