Program Details
The MSOM degree is awarded upon successful completion of 9 courses comprising 36 credits. Students take one course during each seven-week term, enabling most students to finish their degrees in less than two years.
The program consists of:
- Core Courses provide essential knowledge and pave the way for more complex learning.
- Concentration Courses provide the opportunity to delve further into students' specific area of interest, allowing them to expand their scope of learning.
- Capstone Project — enables students to use the skills learned within the program, in a practical problem-solving situation.
Remain Competitive in an Ever-Changing Field
As an NEC MSOM graduate, you will possess the skills required of a leader in the discipline of operations management. You will learn how to facilitate changes while minimizing their impact on schedules and costs; create a workflow; lead others in developing strategies and action steps for achieving goals; effectively organize resources such as manpower, material and technology; and manage a supply chain.
Study Online, but Never Alone
The online delivery of the NEC MSOM program may be new and different to some learners. Understanding this, NEC uses a team of professionals who support each student's progress throughout this rigorous program. Each student has direct access to Faculty, and will be assisted by a Student Services Manager, Admissions Advisor, and Technical Support Team, throughout the online process, from admission to graduation. Each student will progress through the program with a cohort of approximately 12 to 15 other students who learn together and provide peer support and a sense of community in the "virtual environment." NEC's Technical Support Team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to help students resolve any technical difficulties.
