Program Overview
The MSSL degree is awarded upon successful completion of 9 courses comprising 36 credits. Students take one course during each 7-week term, enabling most students to finish the MSSL program in less than two years. The curriculum will challenge you to identify limitations and mindsets that inhibit strategic thinking; develop a framework for creating strategic options; and discern leadership behaviors that contribute to managing change and uncertainty in your organization and the global business environment.
This program will provide you with knowledge and skills that will help you in:
- Evaluating the position of your business;
- Considering the dynamics of the business environment;
- Identifying both opportunities and threats in the environment;
- Analyzing your organization's capacity for change, relative to its environment;
- Identifying the key parameters of change for employees; and
- Aiding in your own leadership transformation.
The program consists of the following structure:
- Core Courses provide essential knowledge and pave the way for more complex learning.
- Concentration Courses provide the opportunity to delve further into your specific area of interest, allowing you to expand your scope of learning.
- Capstone Project — enables students to use the skills learned within the program, in a practical problem-solving situation.
Study Online, but Never Alone The online delivery of the New England College MSSL program may be new and different to some learners. Understanding this, NEC uses a team of professionals who support each student's progress throughout this rigorous program. Each student has direct access to Faculty, and will be assisted by a Student Services Manager, Admissions Advisor, and Technical Support Team, throughout the online process, from admission to graduation. Each student will progress through the program with a cohort of approximately 12 to 15 students who learn together, provide peer support and a sense of community in the "virtual environment." NEC's Technical Support Team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help students resolve any technical difficulties.
